Finishing Your Basement?
Consider these two things first:
1. Make sure your basement is waterproofed
Putting in flooring, drywall, furniture, appliances, is a bad idea in a wet, damp basement. Waterproofing your basement can help keep it dry, and your furniture and new living area, safe from water damages.
2. Choose the right flooring
Putting wood or wood laminate flooring is risky. Even in a dry basement, the humidity level is relatively higher than the rest of your home. This can cause problems with wood type floors. Your best bet is tile.
